Farm-A-Yard Podcast — It’s a movement… have ya heard?

Linda’s love affair, seed addiction, began a long time ago. It all started with seed catalogs.  According to “Seed, The Untold Story”, we have lost 92% of our seed diversity in the last century. How can we save seed diversity?  Start growing some seed!  Develop a relationship with seeds and let the process begin!  Seed catalogs are a wealth of information.  You can learn so much just by reading through catalogs. Pick catalogs from the regions you live in and consider building a seed library in your area from seeds that worked well for you. Growing food should be a collaborative, collective dance among us!  Check out Linda’s list below in the show notes and start planning today! Take action, ask questions!  Share your seed stories. We want to hear from you!

Linda’s history goes way back regarding gardening with children. Hear Linda’s stories working with children. Kids today need to be connected to the earth for good development. Kids that get “soiled” are healthier. This investment with children when they are young, will help them to be so much healthier and wiser for the experience.  Studies show that children who grow some vegetables are more apt to eat vegetables. When gardening with children, you will grow so much more than food. You will plant important skills and seeds of joy in your children!
